Vijay Deverakonda and Rahul Sankrityan Join Forces Again for Ranabaali
Vijay Deverakonda is back with director Rahul Sankrityan after their hit film Taxiwaala. Their new project, earlier called VD14, is now officially titled Ranabaali. Today, the makers released a first glimpse of the film, showing intense visuals and an exciting storyline that has fans talking.
Ranabaali Shows the Harsh Reality of British Rule
Set during the British colonial era, Ranabaali introduces a region called the “Cursed Land.” The film highlights the suffering caused by the British, including areas turned into drought zones by officials like Sir Richard Temple. The glimpse also talks about large-scale killings and exploitation bringing untold stories from history to the screen.

Vijay Deverakonda plays the hero Ranabaali, a brave and fierce character. One action scene, where he rides a horse while dragging a British officer along railway tracks, has already gone viral. Rashmika Mandanna plays Jayamma, and Arnold Vosloo, known for The Mummy, is the villain Sir Theodore Hector.

Ranabaali is inspired by true events from 1850 to 1900. These stories were often ignored or misrepresented in history books. The film shows the truth about people labeled as rebels or savages giving them a voice through Ranabaali’s fight against injustice.
Big Budget, Powerful Music, and Pan-India Release
Produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y. Ravi Shankar, and presented by T-Series, Ranabaali promises a grand cinematic experience. The music by Ajay–Atul adds energy and emotion to the film. Ranabaali will release on the September 11 in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam, making it a major pan India release.
