New Delhi: Big news for PF account holders! The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) is bringing a new facility that will make it easier for employees to withdraw their PF money. Under the upcoming EPFO 3.0 digital platform, users will soon be able to withdraw PF money directly from ATMs — just like withdrawing cash from a bank account.
According to reports, the government plans to launch this new service by January 2026. This will benefit around 7.5 crore (75 million) PF members across the country.
No More Waiting for PF Withdrawals
Currently withdrawing PF money takes around 10–15 days to process. But after this facility is launched, employees will get instant cash. Just insert your PF-linked ATM card, enter the PIN, and withdraw the money. This move is being seen as a major relief and a digital revolution for PF subscribers.
Conditions on PF Withdrawals
There will be some limits on the withdrawal amount:
- Employees can withdraw up to ₹1 lakh per transaction.
- They can also withdraw up to 50% of their PF balance freely.
- EPFO is also planning to enable UPI transactions in the future.
Currently, it is not possible to withdraw PF money from ATMs, but this feature will soon be available under the government EPFO 3.0 upgrade.
PF Interest Rate for FY 2024–25
The government gives yearly interest on PF savings.For the financial year 2024–25 the interest rate is 8.25%. This interest is added directly to the employees PF account providing an extra boost to their savings.

How to Check PF Balance
Employees can easily check their PF balance through multiple options:-
- Missed Call: Give a missed call to check your balance instantly.
- Umang App: Use the governments Umang app to view your PF account details.
- EPFO Website: Visit the official EPFO portal to check balance and updates on it.
- On SMS: Type “EPFOHO UAN ENG” and send it to 7738299899 from your registered mobile number.
This new step by the government aims to make PF services faster simpler and fully digital giving millions of employees better access to their savings.
