Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu said that the Ministry of Civil Aviation met teams from three new airlines in the last week. Shankh Air had already received its approval earlier, and now Al Hind Air and FlyExpress have also been cleared.

At present, India’s domestic flight market is mainly controlled by IndiGo and the Air India Group. Together, they carry about 90% of all passengers. When IndiGo recently faced many delays and cancellations, passengers across the country were affected.

- Shankh Air plans to connect metro and regional cities, especially in Uttar Pradesh like Lucknow, Varanasi, Agra, and Gorakhpur.

The minister said that the government is encouraging new airlines under different aviation policies. Schemes like UDAN have helped small airlines such as Star Air, IndiaOne Air, and Fly91 connect small cities.

What Happens After New Airline NOC in India
Getting an NOC does not mean flights will start at once. The airline must first get an AOC from the DGCA. For this they must show they have:
- Enough money
- Aircraft and trained staff
- Strong safety systems
Only after this approval can commercial flights begin.
New Airline NOC in India May Reduce Market Pressure
Currently, IndiGo holds more than 60% market share, while the Air India Group has around 25%. Smaller airlines like Akasa Air and SpiceJet make up the rest.
