PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana Update: Government May Increase Annual Amount to ₹12,000

The PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana has already released 21 instalments of ₹2,000 each to eligible farmers. As the next phase approaches farmer organisations across the country are strongly demanding that the instalment amount be doubled. If the government agrees, the annual financial support could rise from ₹6,000 to ₹12,000, offering major relief to millions of farmers.

Will the PM-KISAN Instalment Amount Increase?

If the government approves the proposal, farmers may soon receive ₹4,000 per instalment instead of ₹2,000, making it ₹12,000 annually in three instalments. This increase would act as a “financial booster” for agricultural families who rely on this scheme for essential expenses.
However, there is no official confirmation yet. Whether the instalment amount will increase or not is still a matter of speculation, and farmers are eagerly waiting for the government’s decision.

Why Farmer Organisations Want the Benefit Doubled

More than 12 crore farmers are registered under the PM Kisan Yojana, but only about 9 crore farmers received the 21st instalment. Those who did not complete e-KYC missed out on the payment.

Farmer unions argue that due to rising agricultural costs, doubling the scheme amount has become necessary.

Government’s Current Stand

So far, the government has not issued any statement regarding an increase in instalment amounts. Farmer groups have been pressuring the government for years, but there is still no clarity from the Agriculture Ministry or any official department.

When Can the Increase Be Expected?

If the government considers this proposal, a major announcement could come during the 2026–27 Budget Session. In such a case, the enhanced amount might be implemented from the 22nd instalment onwards.
For now farmers will have to wait for an official update from the government.
