8th Pay Commission 2026: Salary Increase for Government Employees

The biggest good news of 2026 is related to the 8th Pay Commission. The government is planning to implement the 8th Pay Commission from January 1, 2026.

After this, the basic salary of central government employees may increase a lot. Experts say the basic pay, which is around ₹35,400, may go much higher. With DA and HRA, the total salary can go above ₹1 lakh per month. This will help lakhs of government employees and pensioners.

LPG Price Hike 2026: Commercial Gas Cylinder Becomes Costly

On the first day of the new year, oil companies increased the price of the 19-kg commercial LPG gas cylinder by ₹111.

  • Delhi: Price increased to ₹1691.50
  • Mumbai: New price is ₹1642.50

Due to this LPG cylinder price hike, hotels, restaurants, and canteens may increase food prices. This will affect common people too.

Car Prices Increased in 2026: Buying a Car Now Costs More

Buying a new car in 2026 is now get more expensive. Many car companies have increased their car prices from January 1, 2026.
For example

  • Hyundai, Nissan, Renault, MG Motor: Prices increased by 2% to 3%
  • Nissan Magnite: Price increased by 3%
  • Mercedes-Benz: Cars are now 2% costlier
  • Hyundai Creta and Venue: Prices increased by 0.6%

Because of these price hikes people planning to buy a car in 2026 will need to spend more money and prepare a bigger budget.

New IRCTC Rule 2026: Aadhaar Mandatory for Ticket Booking

Indian Railways has introduced a new IRCTC ticket booking rule to stop ticket fraud.

From January 12, 2026 only passengers with Aadhaar-linked IRCTC accounts can book tickets between 8 AM and 12 PM.

This rule will help genuine passengers get confirmed tickets easily.

Air Travel News 2026: Flight Tickets May Become Cheaper

There is good news for air travelers. Oil companies get ready to reduced the price of Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF).

  • ATF price in Delhi: ₹92,323 per kiloliter

Due to lower fuel costs, airlines may reduce air ticket prices in the coming days. This is good for people planning trips in 2026.
