Nanda Gaura Yojana 2025: Uttarakhand Girls to Get ₹62,000, Apply Before 20 December

The central and state governments run many welfare schemes to support daughters. One popular central scheme is Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana. At the state level the Uttarakhand government has launched the Nanda Gaura Yojana for girls. Under this yojana, financial help is provided from the birth of a daughter until she completes her 12th class. Eligible families must apply before 20 December 2025.

What Is Nanda Gaura Yojana?

The Nanda Gaura Yojana is a welfare initiative of the Uttarakhand government. Its main purpose or aim is to encourage parents to educate their daughters and secure their future. Under this yojana, money is given in two stages and deposited directly into a joint bank account of the mother and daughter. This support is especially helpful for poor and middle-income families.

₹62,000 Benefit Under Nanda Gaura Yojana

Under the Nanda Gaura Yojana, families receive a total financial benefit of ₹62,000. After the birth of a girl child, ₹11,000 is deposited into the joint bank account once registration is completed. When the girl passes her 12th class, the government deposits another ₹51,000. This amount can be used for higher education or other important needs.

Purpose of Nanda Gaura Yojana

The Nanda Gaura Yojana aims to stop female foeticide, prevent child marriage, and promote education among girls. It also works to reduce gender inequality and provide financial security to daughters so they can continue their studies and become independent.

Who Can Get Benefits of Nanda Gaura Yojana?

The Nanda Gaura Yojana is only for permanent residents of Uttarakhand. Families with more than the two daughters are not eligible. Registration for the first phase must be done within six months of the girl’s birth. The girl must be born in a government or private hospital or an ANM center. If the birth happens outside the state, a valid certificate is required. Home births are not accepted.

For the second installment, applications must be submitted by 30 November of every financial year. The family’s annual income should not more than ₹72,000. Only income certificates issued by the Tehsildar are accepted.

To apply for the Nanda Gaura Yojana visit the official website https://www.nandagaurauk.in/. The Applications are accepted only through the online mode. Offline applications are not allowed. Applicants must have the girl child’s details, Aadhaar card, and the guardian’s Aadhaar card to complete the process.
