New Feature on ITR E-Filing Portal: Now File Rectification Requests Online Easily

Income Tax Department Launches New Feature on ITR E-Filing Portal

The Income Tax Department has introduced a new feature on the ITR e-filing portal to help taxpayers file rectification requests simply. With this update taxpayers no longer need to visit the tax office or depend on the Assessing Officer (AO) for any small corrections.

Now the entire rectification process can be completed online in a few simple steps.

What Is the New Feature on ITR E-Filing Portal ?

The new feature on the ITR e-filing portal allows taxpayers to submit rectification applications for TP, DRP, and Revision Orders directly to the concerned authority.

The Income Tax Department said that taxpayers can file these requests by visiting:

Services → Rectification → Request to AO seeking rectification on the official website.

Rectification Requests Can Now Be Filed Online

Earlier, taxpayers had to submit rectification requests manually, which took a lot of time. But now, with the new ITR e-filing portal feature, rectification requests can be filed online without paperwork.

Chartered Accountant Suresh Surana said that this change will help taxpayers correct clear mistakes in income tax orders quickly and smoothly.
