PAN Aadhaar Link Last Date Today: Link PAN with Aadhaar Before It Becomes Inoperative

The PAN Aadhaar Link deadline is December 31, 2025. The Income Tax Department has advised all PAN holders to link their PAN with Aadhaar before the end of the day.

If the PAN Aadhaar Link is not completed today, the PAN will become inoperative from January 1, 2026, as per official information.

How to Link PAN with Aadhaar Online

Follow these simple steps to complete the PAN Aadhaar Link:

Log in to the Income Tax e-filing portal
Go to Profile and select Link PAN with Aadhaar
Enter PAN and Aadhaar details
Pay the linking fee through e-Pay Tax, if required
Submit the request
Enter the OTP that is sent to the mobile number linked with your Aadhaar.

After submission, verification may take 1–2 days.

Penalty for Not Linking PAN with Aadhaar

If you miss the PAN Aadhaar Link deadline, you must pay a ₹1,000 penalty to link it later.

Note: PAN cards issued after October 1, 2024, using Aadhaar enrolment ID are exempt from this penalty till the deadline.

What Happens If PAN Is Inoperative

If the PAN Aadhaar Link is not done, your PAN will stop working. This means:

Income tax return cannot be filed
Refund will not be issued
Bank and financial services may be blocked
