Important update for ration card holders: The Uttarakhand government has made e-KYC mandatory for all ration card holders. Everyone must complete this process by November 30, 2025. If you fail to do so, your ration card will be temporarily deactivated, as per the rules of the Government of India.
District Supply Officer Mukesh Kumar shared this information stating that the order came from the Commissioner of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, Dehradun.
To complete your e-KYC, all family members listed on your ration card should visit their nearest government ration shop. There, you can complete the process by giving your biometric thumb impression on the e-POS machine.
Mukesh Kumar has urged all ration card holders to finish their e-KYC before the deadline to avoid any issues in getting ration supplies.
Many People Still Haven’t Done KYC
Despite repeated notices, many people are yet to complete their e-KYC.
In Raipur district alone, around 4 lakh (400,000) people haven’t verified their details yet. People can still visit ration shops and complete their biometric verification till November 30.
According to the Food Department, about 22.2 lakh (2.22 million) people are registered on ration cards in Raipur district. Out of these, 18.1 lakh (1.81 million) have completed e-KYC, while 4.25 lakh are still pending.

The department has once again extended the deadline.
District Food Controller Bhupendra Mishra said that ration for dealers who have extra stock will be withheld this month, so they can distribute their remaining grains first.
61 Ration Shops Under Suspension
In Raipur district, 61 ration shop owners did not distribute last month’s ration.
Because of this, their ration supply has been stopped for this month.
A Food Department investigation found that these shops already had hundreds of quintals of rice in stock, yet they continued to receive new supplies from NAN warehouses every month.
To manage this issue, the department has stopped fresh allocations until the old stock is cleared.
