Trent Limited has announced a major reward package for its shareholders by approving both a hefty dividend payout and a bonus share issue for the financial year 2026. The Tata Group retail giant, known for brands such as Westside and Zudio, confirmed that it has also revised the record dates for both corporate actions.

Trent Declares 600% Dividend for FY26

The board of Trent has recommended a final dividend of 600%, which translates to ₹6 per equity share having a face value of ₹1 each. The dividend proposal is subject to approval by shareholders during the company’s 74th Annual General Meeting (AGM).

According to the company, eligible shareholders will receive the dividend on or after the third day following the conclusion of the AGM. Trent further clarified that the payment will be made after deduction of applicable tax at source (TDS).

The company has revised the dividend record date to Friday, June 12, 2026, replacing the earlier announced date of Wednesday, June 10, 2026.

Trent Announces 1:2 Bonus Share Issue

In another significant move, Trent’s board approved a bonus issue in the ratio of 1:2. This means shareholders will receive one additional equity share of ₹1 each for every two fully paid-up shares held on the record date.

The revised record date for the bonus issue is now Thursday, June 4, 2026. Earlier, the company had fixed Friday, May 29, 2026, as the eligibility date.

The company stated in its exchange filing that the change was made to determine the shareholders eligible for receiving bonus shares.

First Bonus Issue in Nearly 30 Years

This is Trent’s first bonus share issue in almost three decades. The company last rewarded investors with bonus shares in 1996, when it issued shares in a 1:1 ratio.

The announcement has generated strong interest among investors, as bonus issues are often viewed as a sign of management confidence and long-term business growth.

Trent Share Price Today

Despite the positive corporate announcements, Trent shares traded lower during Friday’s session. At around 1:00 PM on May 8, 2026, the stock was quoted at ₹4,232.50, down 1.43% from the previous closing price.

Strong Dividend History

Trent has maintained a consistent dividend payout record over the years. The company paid:

  • ₹5 per share final dividend in 2025
  • ₹3.20 per share in 2024
  • ₹2.20 per share in 2023
  • ₹1.10 final dividend and ₹0.60 interim dividend in 2022

The latest 600% dividend announcement further strengthens Trent’s reputation as a shareholder-friendly company.

What Investors Should Know

Shareholders holding Trent shares as of the revised record dates will be eligible for both the dividend and bonus issue benefits, subject to approval at the AGM. Investors are now closely watching the company’s future growth strategy and retail expansion plans under the Tata Group umbrella.
