Paddy MSP: The West Bengal government has announced a major relief package for farmers this year. Under the new update, farmers will receive double benefits directly in their bank accounts, thanks to the increased Minimum Support Price (MSP) and a fully digital paddy procurement system. The state government has already launched several farmer-friendly schemes, and now an important new decision aims to ensure farmers get the right price for their paddy without middlemen.
Paddy MSP Increased – Farmers to Earn More
According to the Department of Agriculture Development, the support price of paddy has been increased for the new procurement season. From next Monday, paddy procurement will begin across all districts at the new government rate. This time, the state will buy paddy at nearly double the price compared to earlier seasons.
Farmers can now sell a minimum of 15 quintals of paddy and up to 90 quintals, which is a big benefit for both small and large farmers. By selling directly to the government farmers will enjoy higher earnings and transparent payments.
Procurement Centres in Every Block
To make the process easier the government will set up a Paddy Procurement Centre in every block. Farmers will no longer have to travel long distances. They can sell their produce nearby & earn better profits without middlemen.
Online Booking System for Paddy Sale
A fully digital system has now been introduced where farmers can book paddy sale slots online from home. By visiting the official agriculture portal, farmers & register and schedule their sale easily.
The biggest advantage is that farmers will no longer have to stand in long queues. Once the paddy is sold to the government, the payment will be transferred directly to their bank accounts within 24–48 hours.
Double Income Advantage
Agriculture Department officials stated that farmers will now receive almost double profit due to the higher MSP, bonuses, and the digital selling system. With just one card, a farmer can sell a larger amount of paddy, including the harvest of their entire family ensuring more income and quicker payments.

How to Register Online for Paddy Sale
Farmers can follow these simple steps to register online:
- Go to official agriculture website of the West Bengal government.
- Click on Farmer Registration.”
- Enter your Aadhaar number, bank details, and land information.
- Complete OTP verification.
After registration, you will receive the date, time, and centre for paddy submission.
New Paddy Support Price Fixed
This year, the state Agriculture and Food Department has fixed the MSP for paddy at ₹2,389 per quintal, compared to ₹2,320 last year — an increase of ₹69 per quintal. This is great news for lakhs of small and marginal farmers who depend heavily on paddy cultivation.
Experts believe that the increased MSP and online procurement system will greatly strengthen the rural economy. With more transparency, faster payments, and simpler selling options, farmers in West Bengal are likely to take more interest in farming.
