BSE Q3 Results Shock Market: Net Profit Jumps 174% to ₹603 Crore

BSE Q3 Results: BSE Ltd, one of Asia’s oldest stock exchanges, has posted very strong results for the December quarter (Q3FY26). The company announced its earnings after market hours and reported a net profit of ₹603 crore, which is a 174% increase compared to ₹220 crore in the same quarter last year.
Compared to the September quarter, BSE’s profit also grew by 12%, up from ₹538 crore.
BSE Revenue Rises 62% Year-on-Year
BSE’s total revenue increased 62% year-on-year to ₹1,244 crore in the December quarter. The main reason for this growth was higher transaction charges, which rose sharply to ₹952 crore. In the same quarter last year, transaction charges were ₹511 crore, while in the September quarter they stood at ₹794 crore.
Other Business Segments Show Steady Growth
Revenue from services provided to corporate clients increased to ₹156 crore, compared to ₹150 crore last year and ₹138 crore in the previous quarter.
However, treasury income from clearing and settlement declined slightly to ₹42.9 crore, from ₹48 crore in the year-ago quarter.
Strong Performance in Equity Derivatives Segment
BSE’s equity derivatives segment performed very well in Q3FY26. The average daily notional turnover in options doubled to ₹210 lakh crore, compared to ₹105 lakh crore in Q3FY25.

The options premium average daily turnover (ADTV) rose 29.33% quarter-on-quarter to ₹194 lakh crore, up from ₹150 lakh crore in Q2FY26. Due to this strong growth, options revenue jumped 122% year-on-year to ₹784 crore.
Operating EBITDA Improves Sharply
BSE’s operating EBITDA (including Core SGF) stood at ₹732 crore in the December quarter. This is much higher than ₹235 crore in the same quarter last year and ₹680 crore in the previous quarter.
The EBITDA margin came in at 59%, compared to 31% last year.
BSE’s December quarter results show strong growth across profits, revenue, and derivatives trading. Higher trading activity and more income from transactions helped the exchange post strong financial results.
