Galaxy S26 Ultra Launch Date: Samsung May Launch New Flagship in February 2026

Samsung fans waiting for the Galaxy S26 Ultra launch date may have to wait a little longer. New reports say Samsung is planning its next Galaxy Unpacked event in February, not January as expected earlier.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Samsung may host the Galaxy Unpacked event in San Francisco where the Galaxy S26 Ultra and other models will be revealed.

Why the Galaxy S26 Ultra Launch Date Is Getting Late

Earlier, Samsung was expected to launch the Galaxy S26 series in mid January. The lineup was believed to include the Galaxy S26 Ultra, Galaxy S26 Edge, and Galaxy S26 Pro.

But the Galaxy S25 Edge did not sell well. Because of this, Samsung reduced its production and decided to rethink its plans. Now, the Galaxy S26 Edge may be dropped, and the Galaxy S26 Plus could return.

Samsung Changes Strategy Before Galaxy S26 Ultra Launch Date

Samsung also planned a Galaxy S26 Pro with better camera and performance. However, higher specifications would increase the price. Apple’s iPhone 17 stayed at the same price, making it more attractive.
To stay competitive, Samsung reportedly dropped the Pro model and decided to launch the vanilla Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26 Plus, and Galaxy S26 Ultra. This change is one of the main reason behind the delayed Galaxy S26 Ultra launch date.

Galaxy S26 Ultra May Launch Before MWC 2026

Even if the Galaxy Unpacked event happens in mid-February, Samsung can still release the Galaxy S26 Ultra before Mobile World Congress (MWC) starts on March 2.

Reports suggest that phones could go on sale two to three weeks after the event, meaning sales may begin in early March.

Galaxy S26 Ultra Launch Date Supported by Trusted Tipster

Popular smartphone tipster IceUniverse has also confirmed the February timeline. He said the Galaxy S26 series will be launched in February and go on sale in March.
